The ground kept cracking

They're the places where I actually broke. The decisions I knew better than to make but made anyway. The habits I couldn't stop. The patterns that kept repeating despite everything I tried.

The fractures aren't metaphors.

They're actual failures: energy that wouldn't last, focus that wouldn't hold, momentum that couldn't survive the first obstacle. A self that kept collapsing at the worst moments.

The erosion isn't abstract.

It's what happens when you walk paths you didn't choose. When you follow directions you never examined. When the ground itself is borrowed and you're just hoping it holds one more day.

More effort, longer hours, better systems. But you can't outwalk ground that's already unstable. Speed just means you collapse sooner.

Fixing each crack as it appeared. Treating symptoms instead of asking why the ground kept cracking in the first place.

Trying to force stability through sheer determination. A gentle push against forces designed to break it.

The realisation

See the path

See where you're actually standing. Before any direction, before any progress, before any plan. See what you were given. Know your ground. Walk deliberately. This isn't optional. It's the only place to start.

Make the way

Build ground that holds. With clear sight, establish your pace. Walk through difficulty. Create paths that strengthen with use. Walk with what you have. The non-negotiables.

Walk well

Move in a way that lasts. Daily practice. Connections that hold. Direction that matters. The sustainable rhythm of a path that doesn't keep cracking.
